Poverty in India.png
A Multi-Genre Exploration

India is home to a wealth of traditional culture, a growing economy, and one of the most quickly modernizing job markets in the world. It is also home to devastating poverty and archaic inequality. More than 40% of Indian people live in poverty, poverty being defined as living on less than one dollar and twenty-five cents a day. In the USA, that isn't even enough to buy a pack of gum.

Why do they live in such poverty and desolation? How do they have so little when we have so much? We will explore four concepts, social classism, women's rights, child labor and health, that are both causes and effects of poverty. They contribute to the vicious cycle of not having enough.
